Job summary

Visiting Angels of Longview is seeking caregivers to serve our treasured clients throughout East Texas, including Carthage and nearby towns. As an In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver, you will support clients with personal care, meals, light housekeeping, and companionship in familiar home settings.

We offer advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer's care, flexible shifts (full-time, part-time, 8–12 hour shifts, PRN) and opportunities for growth with competitive wages.

Qualifications

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and emergency response training required (provided if needed).
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist clients with light physical activity or walks.
• Plan and prepare meals with clients.
• Light housekeeping duties.
• Report health changes or unusual incidents.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
• Remind clients to take medications as prescribed.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments.

Role

As a Visiting Angels In Home Housekeeper or Caregiver, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

In Home Housekeeper Or Caregiver Job Requirements

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Training in First Aid and emergency response is required (provided if needed)
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the table
