Job summary

Jordanurniture seeks a Furniture Repair Technician apprentice to perform in-home repairs on a 4-month training program. Training occurs at Taunton, MA and initial hours are Tue-Fri, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, then a fixed schedule at the New Haven, CT store. Pay range is $22–$24 per hour with benefits and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include refinishing, upholstering, operating power tools, documenting repairs, and customer education on techniques and warranty programs.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program lasting 4 months.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Valid drivers license and safe driving record.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Refinish and patch damaged furniture including paint, stain, enamel or lacquers; mixes paints and stains to match existing finish.
• Repairs, replaces and rebuilds damaged leather or upholstery furniture or mechanical parts.
• Sets up and operates such tools as power drills, sanders, saws, and other tools required for repair.
• Completes repair related paperwork and other documentation as required.
• Safely drives company van to customers homes to assess and repair damaged furniture.
• Effectively educates and informs customers on repair techniques and/or warranty programs.
