Job summary

Jordan’s Furniture is looking for a Furniture Repair Technician to perform in-home repairs and learn a full trade. This is a 4-month apprenticeship with promotion upon completion, based at our New Haven, CT store with training at Taunton, MA warehouse.

During training, hours are Tuesday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM at the Taunton warehouse. After training, hours shift to Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM at the New Haven store, with occasional outside work.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program to train in furniture repair and customer service.
• Willingness to travel to customers’ homes for in-home repairs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Refinishes and patches damaged furniture including paint, stain, enamel or lacquers; matches finishes.
• Repairs, replaces and rebuilds damaged leather or upholstery furniture or mechanical parts.
• Sets up and operates tools required for repair (power drills, sanders, saws, etc.).
• Completes repair-related paperwork and other documentation as required.
• Safely drives company van to customers’ homes to assess and repair furniture.
• Educates customers on repair techniques and warranty programs.
