Job summary

Healthcare & Emergency Solutions seeks a Family Support Counselor to provide in-home and community-based counseling services under a 1099 contractor arrangement in Georgia. You will support families involved with the justice system, conduct psychosocial assessments, and apply trauma-focused therapies to reduce abuse and neglect risks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or counseling/mental health and eligible for licensure under supervision.
• 1+ year of human services/mental health experience with children or adults.
• Strong crisis management, de-escalation and critical thinking abilities.
• Valid Georgia driver's license with a 3-year clear history.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 100 miles.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of intensive case management values and activities.
• Must complete required state trainings.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention services for clients experiencing acute mental health crises or emotional distress.
• Offer support and guidance to clients and their families during challenging times.
• Conduct problem-solving in individual sessions to assist clients with challenges (e.g., domestic violence, trauma, anger/stress management).
• Utilize CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic therapy as appropriate.
• Understand intensive case management goals and activities.
• Provide intensive in-home counseling to maintain child permanency.
• Assist in preparing for the safe return of the child to the parent/caregiver.
• Provide substance abuse treatment and education.
• Help clients develop coping skills and achieve treatment goals.
• Behavioral Health Assessment: 1 year (Preferred)
