Job summary

Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is seeking a Family Preservation Worker to provide intensive in-home services across Maine. The role requires travel and serves families in Androscoggin, Franklin, and Oxford counties, supporting them to keep children safely at home.

Responsibilities include data collection, goal planning, and advocacy, with flexible hours to meet family needs. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field is required, plus strong communication and crisis intervention skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus minimum two years of experience with children and families, or Master’s degree with relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with diverse families and cultures.
• Strong teaching and crisis intervention abilities.
• Knowledge of state and community resources.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to engage respectfully with a wide range of clients.
• Commitment to compassionate customer service.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours.
• Residence within sixty minutes of most families.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and safe driving record.
• Pass MVR check and provide reliable vehicle.
• Criminal history screening compliance.
• Faith-based alignment with Bethany’s Mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home and community support to families to prevent out-of-home placement.
• Perform interventions per HOMEBUILDERS standards and document progress.
• Collect data and report thoroughly in a timely manner.
• Develop goals and service plans with families and referents.
• Advocate for clients and assist with transportation or needs as required.
• Coordinate with supervisor and team to ensure quality and coverage.
• Maintain updated progress notes and contract-compliant reports.
