Job summary

Samaritas is hiring a Preservation Advocate for the MiFamily Together program. This in-home, family-centered role focuses on preserving families and preventing maltreatment while promoting stability and wellbeing.

You will work with families in their homes delivering in-home services, assessments, planning, and resources. A bachelor’s degree is required, with opportunities for growth within a mission-driven, faith-informed organization.

Qualifications

• This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services or education.
• Alternatively, two years’ experience working with children/families and an associate degree or the equivalent with active pursuit of a bachelor's degree within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekly in-home services to families over a 6-month period.
• Deliver crisis intervention, education, and support to families at risk of child removal or reunification.
• Utilize Protective Factors and the 2Gen approach to strengthen family systems.
• Conduct comprehensive family assessments.
• Collaboratively develop and implement goals with families.
• Support skill-building and connect families to resources.
• Work closely with referral sources, courts, schools, and community providers.
• Advocate for families and coordinate needed services.
• Actively participate in team meetings and case reviews.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation.
• Track progress, complete reports, and meet program requirements.
• Participate in ongoing training and apply best practices
