Job summary

Prep Academy Tutors of Northern Virginia is seeking experienced, certified educators to provide personalized, in-home tutoring for elementary students in grades K-6 in the Fair Oaks area. Tutors work one-on-one in students' homes, delivering focused instruction and targeted support.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree or higher, a Virginia teaching license or equivalent credential, and classroom teaching experience.

• Experience as a classroom teacher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one in-home tutoring to K-6 students.
• Support across general subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies).
• Adapt lessons to individual learning needs and styles.
• Reinforce classroom instruction and foundational skills.
• Assist with homework, study strategies, and test prep.
• Identify academic difficulties and develop improvement plans.
• Build positive relationships with students and families.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates.
• Encourage ownership of learning and confidence.
• Travel to students' homes for tutoring sessions.
