Job summary

Royal Community Support – Hackensack Branch is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one, community-based assistance to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Highland River, Sussex County, NJ.

The role focuses on person-centered care, daily living support, and participation in community activities, with a strong emphasis on safety and independence. The position is part-time with 40 hours weekly and weekday schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Reliable personal vehicle for community-based support.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Authorized to work legally in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living skills and personal care.
• Support housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
• Provide transportation to appointments and activities.
• Encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
• Maintain professional communication with guardians and staff.
• Follow individualized service plans and behavior strategies.
• Promote safety and independence in home and community settings.
