Job description

Do you enjoy building relationships and helping others thrive at home? Do you value serving those in need?

At AmanaCare, we provide faithful, personalized in-home assistance to seniors and disabled or recovering persons. We are seeking non-medical caregivers throughout Nebraska.

We offer:

  • Paid health insurance. We cover all caregivers working 25 hours a week or more with individual indemnity health insurance. We can also offer partial payment for additional health insurance coverages, and for plans for spouses, children, and family.
  • Competitive pay. Our wages are matched to experience and qualification, and are up to $3.00 above the eastern Nebraska average and 20% higher than the national average.
  • Immediate hours. We have current openings so you can start your first shift right away.
  • Flexible scheduling. We schedule you with clients based on your availability, whether you are looking for two hours a week or forty.
  • Weekly paychecks, directly deposited every Friday.
  • Paid on-the-job training. All initial training and shadowing is paid. No medical certification or prior experience is required--we coach you through the specifics of caring for each client individually.
  • Room for advancement. We want to give you the resources you need to develop as a caregiver, including continued education. To this end, we offer five levels of advanced and specialty training through CareAcademy, and a $40 bonus for the completion of each one. We also offer up to a dollar increase in your normal wages within the first year of working, and access to a mentoring program. Experienced caregivers have the opportunity to talk with us about becoming a Team Lead--a special position which connects them more closely to the training and scheduling and mentoring of others.
  • Holiday pay. We pay time-and-a-half for any major holidays you provide care on.
  • Employee referral bonus. Refer a qualified candidate and, as a "thank you," we'll offer you a $150 referral bonus once the employee has been with us for 6 months--and another $150 when he or she has worked with us for a year.

This job is:

  • A competitively paying job for those with experience in in-home or residential health care, or as paraprofessionals or direct support professionals: up to $18/hour.
  • A good fit for someone entering the workforce, or someone who has been out of the workforce for the past 6 or more months.
  • Ideal for college students, those with children, and older job seekers and retirees.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Companionship
  • Meal preparation
  • Laundry
  • Medication reminders
  • Bathing assistance
  • Dressing
  • Light housekeeping
  • Errands and transportation
  • Transferring
  • Pet assistance

To apply you must:

  • Be 19 or older.
  • Possess a high-school diploma or GED.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
  • Have reliable transportation.
