Description of the role

Village Caregiving - Bowling Green is seeking a compassionate In-home Caregiver to join our team in Irvington, Kentucky. The In-home Caregiver will be responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals in their homes. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, medication management, and providing companionship. We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient, and has a genuine interest in helping others.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
• Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration
• Help with household chores such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry
• Accompany clients to appointments and outings
• Engage in conversation and provide companionship

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help clients take prescribed medication

• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene

• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises

• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed

• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals

• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members

• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members

• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required

• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification

• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards

• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints

• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner

• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills

• Physical endurance to complete required tasks

• High school diploma or equivalent
