Job summary

Visiting Nurse Association Community Services is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) / Direct Care Worker to provide compassionate personal care in clients' homes. You will work full- or part-time, paid hourly, with flexible scheduling and paid training to support individualized care plans.

You'll assist with daily living activities, mobility support, light housekeeping, meal prep, and documentation while adhering to HIPAA and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Formal certification program or ability to pass competency test.
• Ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care.
• Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Dependability, reliability, and sound judgment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical caregiving tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care: bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, feeding, oral hygiene, nail care, shaving.
• Mobility support: ambulation, transferring, positioning clients in bed, using assistive devices.
• Supporting physical therapy plans, passive and active exercises under supervision.
• Monitoring and communicating changes in physical or emotional health.
• Performing light housekeeping: laundry, tidying bedrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.
• Preparing meals (including special diets), shopping for groceries, and household supplies.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
• Using PPE when appropriate.
• Documenting care and submitting timely reports via telephony system.
