Job summary

Extended Family Incorporated seeks a dedicated Direct Support Worker (DSW) to provide compassionate personal care to clients in-home or in medical settings across seven parishes. The role emphasizes dignity, safety, and daily documentation while supporting clients and their families.

You will work in a team-oriented environment with opportunities for advancement. The company contributes to health insurance and promotes from within when qualifications are met.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Healthcare training or DSW on-the-job experience preferred.
• CPR & First Aid certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide the best care possible per the ISP (individual support plan).
• Care may be in-home or at a medical facility.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding as needed.
• Assist with exercises, toileting, positioning, and daily routines.
• Support with self-administered medications and routine care.
• Document daily activities in the client binder and submit on time.
• Report changes in client condition or urgent needs to a supervisor immediately.
• Follow required safety, emergency, and confidentiality protocols.
• Adhere to Louisiana state regulations and agency policies.
