Job summary

GetHired, Inc. is seeking a Direct Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals needing assistance with daily living activities. You will help with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, meals, and medication reminders while promoting independence and safety.

You will work in private homes or care settings, offering companionship and monitoring changes in health. Flexibility with evenings, weekends, and holidays is often required to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior caregiving experience preferred but not always required.
• Certification as HHA or CNA may be required by state regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Ability to lift and assist clients as needed.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support clients with mobility, including transfers, repositioning, and use of mobility aids.
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
• Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with medication reminders (where permitted by regulations).
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and tidying living areas.
• Monitor and report changes in clients’ condition to appropriate personnel.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments, errands, or social activities as needed.
• Follow care plans and coordinate with family and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
