How You’ll Make a Difference (Essential Functions)

The Age at Home Caregiver is responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living including eating, bathing, dressing, transferring, toileting, and walking or moving around. Caregivers may also provide housekeeping assistance, running errands, and companionship duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Clients with Activities of Daily Living
    • Demonstrates ability to assist clients, safely and respectfully, with activities of daily living, including:
      • Eating
      • Bathing
      • Dressing
      • Transferring
      • Toileting
      • Walking or moving around
    • Assists clients with activities of daily living in accordance with Agrace best practices.
    • Practices appropriate boundaries.
  • Housekeeping, Errands, and Companionship
    • Completes household tasks and errands for client, including (but not limited to):
      • Assistance with walks/rides and light exercise
      • House cleaning, washing laundry and putting away clothes, doing dishes, taking out trash, dusting, vacuuming, making beds and changing linens, etc.
      • Meal preparation, grocery shopping, and checking expiration dates
      • Assists with correspondence, keeping calendars up to date, etc.
      • Assists with pet care.
    • Socializes and engages in activities, including (but not limited to):
      • Companionship: playing games, looking at photos, and reading.
      • Accompany client to events, appointments, religious services, etc.
      • Assists in coordinating household tasks and errands.
  • Administrative Tasks and Other Duties
    • Records accurate time and documents notes in appropriate systems.
    • Reports unusual or client changes to manager.
    • Collaborates with office staff and other caregivers to ensure coordination of care.
    • Regularly checks work email and responds within 24 hours to schedule requests and keeps availability current.

You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Smart phone with data plan and Wi-Fi capability
  • Driver’s license preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about clients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property
  • Ability to use proper body mechanics and standard precautions

FTE Role Only:

  • Driver’s license required
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to be redeployed to other Agrace teams if caregiving hours are unavailable during scheduled shifts
