Job summary

Village Caregiving - Ashland is seeking a compassionate caregiver to assist clients with daily living tasks, mobility, medication reminders, and transportation to appointments. You will provide personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and assist with routines as directed.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, willingness to follow health and safety standards, and strong communication. Prior caregiving is helpful but not required. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility to appointments or walks.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Support with meals, light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Assist with prescribed exercises and physical therapy tasks.
• Assist with shopping or accompany clients to stores.
• Collect information from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family.
• Report unusual incidents to caregivers and medical staff.
• Respond promptly and responsibly in emergencies.

Job Description:

• Flexible work hours, Day, Evening and Night shifts
• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
