Job summary

Assisting Hands of Potomac delivers in-home care to seniors and others in Bethesda and surrounding areas. As a caregiver, you’ll provide companionship, help with meals, light housekeeping, bathing and dressing assistance, and mobility support in clients’ homes.

You will maintain care records, follow care plans, and communicate with families and nursing staff to ensure safety and quality of life. Flexible full-time, part-time, or temporary shifts available.

Qualifications

• Must be compassionate, positive, and collaborative.
• Maryland CNA License or CNA Certificate, HHA, or PCA certificate required.
• Current PPD or chest X-ray within the last 5 years.
• Current CPR card.
• Pass a criminal background screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care including companionship, transportation, meals, light housekeeping, bathing and dressing assistance.
• Follow patient care plan and maintain accurate care records.
• Communicate with families, co-workers and supervisors regarding care.
• Assist with transfer and mobility and maintain a safe home environment.

Assisting Hands of Potomac is a family-owned business based in Bethesa, M.D. Assisting Hands Home Care® grew out of a desire to offer our clients personalized non-medical support services in their homes, assisting the elderly, disabled and others needing assistance to maintain quality of life.

Job Description

To provide in home care assistance to clients in the surrounding areas of Potomac, M.D. Duties and responsibilities may include:

Serving as a companion to clients

Transporting clients to and from appointments, errands, activities, etc.

Preparing meals

Interpersonal skills, including exceptional patience and listening skills

Performing light housekeeping duties (e.g., keeping room clean, laundry)

Providing bathing and dressing assistance

Keeping proper care records and reporting changes to nursing team

Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities

Following patient care plan

Communicating with families, co-workers and supervisors regarding care

Assisting with transfer and mobility

Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment

Required Qualifications

Must be a compassionate, positive, and collaborative individual!

Possess State of Maryland CNA License, CNA Certificate, HHA, or PCA certificate

Current PPD in the last 12 months or chest X-ray in the last five years

Current CPR card

Pass a criminal background screening

Ability to work in the United States
