Job summary

Tutor Me Education is seeking a Special Education tutor to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring for a 4th-grade student in San Diego, CA. You will deliver individualized instruction in a structured, supportive setting to support academic progress.

Ideal candidates have SPED experience and familiarity with AAC devices, plus proven behavior management and engagement skills. Start ASAP with a flexible, part-time schedule in a home environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with students with special needs.
• SPED experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with non-verbal students and AAC devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide general academic assistance aligned with 4th-grade curriculum.
• Implement strategies to maintain focus and engagement during sessions.
• Support learning using an AAC device.
• Adapt instruction to meet the student’s individual learning and behavioral needs.
• Manage occasional resistant behaviors with patience and positive reinforcement.
• Create a calm, supportive, and structured learning environment.
