Job summary

FLACRA is seeking an experienced COTI Counselor to provide clinical services to clients served by the agency. You will perform diagnostic evaluations and deliver individual, family, and group therapy, while handling intake and treatment planning with professional judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health/Human Services required; Master's preferred.
• Three years of experience required; QHP or QHP eligible.
• Valid NYS Driver's License required.
• CASAC certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct diagnostic evaluative services to assess diagnoses and treatment needs.
• Deliver direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family and/or group therapy.
• Handle intake and service load with independent judgment using self-initiated consultation.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-service and supervisory meetings.
• Maintain positive relationships with community groups and service providers.
• Participate in community presentations and trainings.
• Provide counseling to aid clients in developing interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrate teamwork and flexibility in a clinical setting.
• Respond to crisis/emergency situations to ensure client safety.
• Ensure documentation is completed timely and in compliance with regulations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and represent FLACRA.
• Coordinate meeting client needs via outreach board.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Job Summary

In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the COTI Counselor is responsible for clinical services to clients served by COTI. The following duties will apply:

Duties

• Responsible for, but not limited to, providing direct diagnostic evaluative services to clients. To assess the client’s primary and secondary diagnosis and, thus, need for and modality of further treatment.
• Supply identified clients’ direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family and/or group therapy.
• With self-direction and competence, carry out the Agency’s responsibilities to its clientele. Handle intake and service load with independent judgment using self-initiated consultation in technical problems of diagnostic evaluation in treatment techniques.
• Participate in general, staff, in-service and supervisory meetings held by the Agency.
• Maintain positive and effective relationships with community groups, referral sources and service agencies.
• Participate in community presentations and training programs.
• Provide counseling to assist clients in the development of appropriate interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrates teamwork and an ability to work in a team environment with coworkers and supervisors. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and cooperative.
• Responds appropriately to crisis/emergency situations in order to ensure/secure the safety/well-being of the clients.
• Assures all documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner in compliance with agency/OASAS regulations, practices, policies & procedures.
• Demonstrates professionalism by providing quality service and care with respect and dignity for the clients and as a representative of FLACRA.
• Coordinate meeting client needs through utilization of the outreach board.
• Perform other duties and functions as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Health/Human Services required. Masters Degree in Health/Human Services preferred. Three years experience required. QHP or QHP eligible required. Valid NYS Drivers’ License required.
