Job summary

MBE CPAs in Wisconsin seeks an In-Charge Audit professional to lead engagements, guide junior staff, and strengthen client relationships. You will plan and perform audits, identify issues, and coordinate workflow to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include reviewing work, mentoring staff, and collaborating with managers to ensure quality results. Onsite with hybrid/remote options for experienced talent, with a strong benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of audit experience at a public accounting firm.
• Experience supervising, reviewing, or guiding staff during audit engagements.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA certification desirable or ability to attain.

What's the role?

In-Charge Audit professionals are responsible for performing and leading audit engagements while supporting client relationships and helping guide junior team members through the audit process. This includes:

• Analyzing client financial records to identify potential accounting issues and performing research to present proposed solutions.
• Planning and performing audit procedures in accordance with applicable accounting and auditing standards.
• Taking ownership of assigned audit engagements, including coordinating workflow and helping ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Supervising, training, and mentoring staff accountants and audit associates throughout audit engagements.
• Reviewing work prepared by staff and providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Building new and strengthening existing client relationships while developing a strong understanding of clients' businesses.
• Communicating with clients throughout engagements to request information, discuss findings, and help address accounting or financial reporting questions.
• Collaborating with Audit Managers and Partners to successfully complete client engagements.

What experience and skills do I need to be successful?

• 3+ years of audit experience at a public accounting firm.
• Previous experience supervising, reviewing, or providing guidance to staff during audit engangements.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• CPA certification highly desired or ability to attain.
• Candidates that are willing to work onsite preferred, but wiling to consider hybrid/remote work for experienced talent.
