Priority consideration given to those with current/active JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN'S LICENSE

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician for our OVERNIGHT/3rd shift team at our greater FORT WAYNE, IN area Iron/Ductile Iron, metals/materials processing and fabrication plant.

The ideal candidate will, on an overnight/3rd shift in support of other shifts, work and be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems within our manufacturing facility, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime, while ensuring timely delivery of quality products.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as experience in troubleshooting and repairing various machinery used in a foundry environment.

In this role, many of the day to day duties are listed below....

  • Perform electrical repairs and maintenance on machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Install, maintain, and repair PLC systems and associated electrical controls.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of automation solutions to improve production processes.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

Priority consideration will be given to those with at least three or more years Industrial Maintenance Electrician experience, with direct knowledge and understanding/working experience with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code, and a proven ability to interpret and apply information on schematic diagrams, drawings and charts for fault isolation and repair of assigned systems and system subassemblies

  • Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in industrial repair and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC programming, and relay logic.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication and welding processes.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment during 3rd shift hours.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in a Foundry, metals processing, iron processing and metals plant, including ANY experience with GREEN SAND FOUNDRY practices, will be a big plus.
