Kalmar is seeking an Integrated Management System (IMS) Specialist to unify Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001) into a single framework. The role is onsite in Ottawa, KS, reporting to the QEHS Manager and focusing on continuous improvement.

You will consolidate manuals, standardize workflows, perform internal and external audits, track CAPA actions, and drive KPI-based performance across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in Integrated Management System fields.
  • ISO 9001/14001/45001 knowledge and auditing.
  • Proactive, independent and team player with good documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidate disparate IMS manuals, procedures, policies and documentation into a single system.
  • Standardize workflows and maintain the document control hierarchy.
  • Ensure ongoing ISO compliance and manage regulatory requirements.
  • Design and execute internal audit programs and coordinate third-party certification audits.
  • Collect, analyze and report IMS performance metrics for management reviews.
  • Educate staff on IMS protocols and foster safety and quality awareness.

Purpose of the Position:


Kalmar is looking for an Integrated Management System (IMS) Specialist who will be responsible for unifying an organization’s various management systems: Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001), and Occupational Health & Safety (ISO 45001) into one seamless, cohesive framework. The IMS Specialist will ensure the systems operate together, reducing redundancy, lowering compliance costs, and driving continuous operational improvement. The position will be onsite in Ottawa, KS, USA and will be reporting to the QEHS Manager.

What are your key responsibilities:
  • Consolidate disparate manuals, procedures, policies, and documentation into a single, user-friendly management system.
  • Standardize workflows, maintain the document control hierarchy, and simplify procedures across departments.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Ensure the organization continuously complies with ISO standards, local legislation, and legal/ regulatory requirements while proactively mitigating operational risks.
  • Stay updated on changes to ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, etc.) and applicable statutory/ regulatory laws.

Audit & Governance:

  • Design, schedule, and execute internal audit programs, while coordinating third-party external certification audits.
  • Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to completion.

Continuous Improvement & Performance Tracking:

  • Collect, analyze and monitor IMS performance metric (KPIs). Prepare reports/ presentations for executive management reviews and guide management reviews to foster a culture of quality, safety, and sustainability.

Training & Culture:

  • Educate staff on IMS protocols, foster safety and quality awareness, and onboarding new employees into the IMS ecosystem.

What you bring to the role:

Education:

  • College optional: Bachelor Degree in Science


Experience:

  • 2+ years experience in Integrated Management System (IMS) fields
  • Well versed in using quality and manufacturing application tools such as Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement tools
  • ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified/trainedGood auditing skill
  • Good computer and documentation skills
  • Good Problem Solving skill / Continuous Improvement/ manufacturing application tools
  • Proactive, independent and self driven
  • Good collaborative team player
  • Hands on and willing to learn/accept new challenges
