Knowles Precision Devices in Liberty, SC is seeking a production operator to load and operate ovens, impregnation systems, and vacuum tanks used to process oil-filled capacitors in accordance with engineering specifications.

You will read work orders, gather materials, load units, monitor cycles, and perform acceptance tests while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • High School education or GED required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who can multi-task.
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing documents.
  • Proficient in high school level math; ability to use measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand a work order packet and other related work documentation to determine what processes need to be used.
  • Gather the material identified in the work order packet.
  • Load capacitors into ovens or liners at the start of the impregnation cycle to dry parts.
  • Transfer units into vacuum tanks/liners at specified times for impregnation.
  • Transfer units from vacuum tanks/liners and prepare them for leak test.
  • Perform acceptance tests on dielectric fluids.
  • Promptly complete job folders and other supporting documentation.
  • Communicate with manufacturing supervision regarding any non-conformances in shop packets, materials, instructions, or other irregularities.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by proper use and maintenance of company provided assets.
  • Other assignments as requested or as business needs require.

Overview:

Under general supervision, loads and operates ovens, impregnation systems, vacuum tanks, and cleaning liners used to process oil filled capacitors in accordance with engineering and manufacturing specifications. Processes parts within expected time frames.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and regularly exposed to hazardous dust.
  • Moderately noisy.
  • Exposure to heat, dust, and oils.
