Position Overview: There are three shifts available for this position, all running Monday through Friday:
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
4:00 PM – 12:30 AM (may be eligible for a shift differential)
8:00 PM – 4:30 AM (may be eligible for a shift differential)
12:00 AM – 8:30 AM (may be eligible for a shift differential)

The Import Specialist - Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is primarily responsible for coordinating & executing import compliance work required under Federal, State, Local, and global laws. The Import Specialist - FTZ will assist a variety of business areas in preparing necessary documentation and processes related to the monitorship and compliance generally; will prepare and maintain compliance reports related to import issues; and will proactively identify and mitigate import compliance risks and exposures throughout Digi-Key. Responsibilities:

• Pre-entry verification of shipments into the FTZ

• Assist with zone to zone transfers (TRF to Fargo, Fargo to TRF)

• Assist with Entry paperwork for consumption entries

• Assist with gathering information for auditing and reporting functions completed by Import Trade Compliance Manager

• Audit for accuracy of part record details prior to FTZ activation

• Spot checks of part record accuracy (C of O, quantity, etc.)

• Assisting with information gathering for drawback claims

• Taking on additional responsibilities from Senior Trade ComplianceSpecialist or Trade Compliance Manager

Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Zero to Four years of Trade Compliance experience

• Zero to Three years of experience working at Digi-Key with experience in Sales, PDC, Logistics, Shipping or Customer Service

• Candidate has a strong understanding of the various functions of Digi-Key, how they work together as well as the industry Digi-Key operates in

• Candidate has strong knowledge of Digi-Key brand and its principles

• Knowledge in the following tools/systems/software: ACE, FileNet, Broker/Carrier Portals, WinDECS, Microsoft Office Suite

• Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen

• Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body

• Must be able to perform the following behavioral competencies; attention to detail, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving, professionalism, project management, thoroughness and time management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Economics, Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent, relevant work experience

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is:

$19.25

to

$26.50

Many factors influence the determination of base pay within a range, including the candidate’s work experience in related roles; the candidate’s knowledge, skills, capabilities, and performance; the relative pay of other DigiKey employees in similar roles; and the budget available for the position.
