Job summary

Green Worldwide Shipping, LLC is seeking a logistics professional in Illinois to own the import consignments from start to finish, handling airfreight and ocean imports with a focus on rate negotiation and exceptional client service.

You will coordinate documentation for exports, communicate clearly with overseas partners, and collaborate with a small, dynamic team to deliver cost-effective shipping solutions.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in imports, shipping, transportation or similar.
• Knowledge of ocean imports handling (FCL/LCL).
• Knowledge of export Customs laws and procedures.
• Strong rate negotiation skills and industry knowledge.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Self-motivated, team player yet able to work independently.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication, proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Own the consignment from start to finish for airfreight and ocean import-related decisions.
• Negotiate rates with steamship lines, domestic carriers, and airlines to maximize value for clients.
• Prepare and coordinate documentation for export activities in a cost-efficient, compliant manner.
• Provide outstanding service to clients, agents, vendors, and colleagues.
• Communicate shipping instructions clearly to overseas partners and clients.
• Maintain high attention to detail and delegate effectively as needed.
• Be responsive and proactive in staying ahead of timelines and client needs.
• Develop industry expertise and mentor teammates as part of a collaborative team.

What

you will bring…

• 4-5 years of experience in imports, shipping, transportation or other like experience.
• Knowledge of ocean (FCL & LCL) imports handling a must.
• Knowledge of export Customs laws, practices and procedures.
• Deep understanding of the shipping industry and rate negotiation opportunities.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work in a team as well as be independent.
• Detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, especially with Excel.
• Aptitude, creativity, and a preference for working in small, collaborative teams.
• Knowledge of Cargo Wise operating system a plus.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
