Job Summary

The Import/Export Coordinator oversees regulatory compliance for imported and exported food products stored in a cold storage facility. This role ensures all USDA FSIS inspections are properly conducted, documentation is uploaded in the Public Health Information System (PHIS), and both domestic and international regulatory requirements are met before product distribution.

Key Responsibilities

USDA Inspection for Imported & Exported Products:

• Coordinate USDA FSIS inspections for imported meat, poultry, seafood, and other regulated food products.
• Facilitate inspection of products for export, ensuring compliance with USDA standards before shipping to international markets.
• Communicate with USDA officers to schedule and manage required inspections.
• Ensure all products meet export health certification requirements before shipment.
  
  

Documentation & PHIS System Management

• Upload and manage import and export-related documents in the USDA PHIS system.
• Verify and maintain accurate health certificates for imported and exported products.
• Keep detailed records of USDA inspection results, product holding status, and release authorizations.
  
  

Cold Storage Oversight & Food Safety Compliance

• Monitor temperature controls to ensure Critical Control Points (CCPs) are met for frozen and refrigerated products.
• Ensure products are properly labeled for domestic distribution or international export.
• Conduct quality assurance checks for stored products before USDA approval and export clearance.

Process & Operational Support

• Oversee inventory tracking for USDA-inspected imported and exported products.
• Work closely with the Shipping & Logistics team to verify USDA inspection stamps before product release.
• Train employees on import/export USDA policies, health certifications, and PHIS system procedures.
  
  

Work Environment

• Must be able lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor tasks
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods
• Able to work in a cold storage environment with temperatures ranging from -10 to 35 degrees
  
  

Hourly Rate is between $18-$26 per hour and is dependent on number of factors including experience, education, certification(s) and other factors.
