Job summary

Murray Motor Company’s automotive service center seeks a positive, experienced Import Automotive Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair customers’ vehicles. You will ensure safety procedures are followed and customer requests are met to satisfaction.

Responsibilities include diagnosing with diagnostic equipment, performing maintenance, and test driving repairs, while collaborating with team members to meet workload and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PA State inspections license is a MUST; emissions is a plus.
  • Automotive and engine repair experience.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Own basic mechanics tools.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Reliable and self-motivated.
  • Able to read and transcribe data for records.

Responsibilities

  • Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
  • Present the best solution to repair vehicles properly.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
  • Repair worn mechanical and technology components.
  • Perform oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations.
  • Diagnose and repair engine, electrical, brakes, and HVAC systems.
  • Direct and participate in customer service activities as workload dictates.
  • Ensure all work meets specifications.
  • Complete repairs and test drive promptly.
  • Assist other employees as needed.

Job description

Murray Motor Company's automotive service center is seeking to hire a positive, experienced, highly motivated, and team oriented Import Automotive Technician. The primary duties of an Import Automotive Technician include diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing our customer's vehicles. As our company’s Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customer’s automotive requests and requirements are met to satisfaction and all safety procedures.

Automotive Technician Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
  • Present the best solution to repair our customer’s vehicles properly
  • Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles
  • Repairing broken or worn mechanical and technology components
  • Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Directs, coordinates, and participates in performing customer service activities as dictated by workload
  • Ensure that all performed work is to proper specifications
  • Complete repairs and test drive promptly.
  • Assist other employees as needed.
Import Automotive Technician Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • PA State inspections license is a MUST, emissions is a plus
  • Automotive and engine repair experience
  • Must be able to lift objects that weigh as much as 50 pounds
  • Able to bend, climb, reach, kneel, etc. for extended periods
  • Prepared to get an additional certification as needed
  • Must read, interpret and transcribe data to maintain an accurate record
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Own your own basic mechanics tools
  • Reliable and self-motivated
