We have an opening for a motivated individual to fill the role of Implementation Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) within the HVAC Implementation Group (HIG). The successful candidate will tailor HVAC solutions by customer location prior to implementation.

Why this Role is Important:

This position plays a critical role in supporting the company's commitment to applying the right energy-saving solutions at each customer location through practical engineering expertise.

Responsibilities:

  1. Review equipment survey documents to identify optimal HVAC solutions focusing on energy reduction and customer satisfaction.
  2. Create HVAC scopes and bills of material (BOMs) for new and existing clients.
  3. Provide mechanical engineering support for HVAC technologies including rooftop units, split systems, VRF systems, thermostats, dehumidification, kitchen exhaust/make-up air systems, variable frequency drives, and BAS controls.
  4. Review submittals and equipment documentation to verify proposed equipment meets existing unit criteria.
  5. Assess on-site conditions (in person or via HVAC Survey), analyze potential issues, and verify installation compliance with engineering design.
  6. Interpret construction documents such as site plans, floor plans, details, sections, and equipment schedules to implement energy reduction solutions.
  7. Review implementation checkout documents to diagnose installation issues.
  8. Support maximizing utility incentives based on HVAC solutions for customer locations.
  9. Perform other related duties as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of design and/or construction experience with HVAC systems, including but not limited to heat pumps, rooftop units, split systems, VRF, ERV/HRV, kitchen hoods, exhaust fans, and variable frequency drives.
  • Strong collaboration experience with MEP contractors and project managers, understanding their operations.
  • Proven knowledge of HVAC building operations and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE Standards, the International Mechanical Code, and the International Energy Conservation Code.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of engaging with non-engineers internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and capacity to learn new software quickly.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $95,000—$110,000 USD, based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
