Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Austin, Texas, is hiring an Implant Equipment Technician to maintain state-of-the-art implant and anneal tool sets, improving quality while driving efficiency in a 24/7 production environment.

You will troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, follow SOPs, and support cross-functional teams. A technical background and 2+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years industrial manufacturing or similar experience.
  • High School diploma required; technical degree or military technical experience preferred.
  • Experience with 300mm AMAT VIISta, Axcelis Paradigm, Nissin Exceed, AMAT Centura, AMAT Vantage, Mattson Millios, Veeco LSA preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical skills to find impactful solutions.
  • Understanding of Lean Principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Practicing 6S in the office and fab, prioritizing safety and reducing risks.
  • Assisting team with daily workload and sustaining activities in the fab.
  • Following SOPs, PTPs, and OCAPs to work efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
  • Performing Electrical, Pneumatic, and Mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Performing Mechanical assembly and disassembly.
  • Performing PM and BM on Implanter and Anneal tool sets.
  • Learning how tools operate and recovery procedures for breakdowns.
  • Using tool GUIs to recover issues and extract data.
  • Cross-training on ion-implantation and rapid thermal processing equipment.
  • Maintaining world class operations in a 24/7 high volume environment.

Position Summary

As an Implant Equipment Technician you will be a part of a team that focuses on maintaining basic condition on state of the art Semiconductor Production Equipment while driving improvements related to quality, efficiency, defect reduction, and cost of ownership. We prioritize safety, learning, and having fun while maintaining world class operations 24/7.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Practicing 6S in the office and fab. Holding safety as the number 1 priority, and looking for opportunities to reduce safety risks in all procedures and daily operations.
  • Assisting all the team members with daily work load and sustaining activities in the fab when necessary.
  • Following SOPs, PTPs, and Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs) to work efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
  • Performing Electrical, Pneumatic, and Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Performing Mechanical assembly and disassembly.
  • Performing PM (Preventive Maintenance) and BM (Break down Maintenance) on Implanter and Anneal tool sets.
  • Learning how the tools operate and understanding Breakdown Maintenance (BMs) recovery procedures.
  • Utilizing new and existing systems that help in day to day job roles, i.e. SiMax, Workplace, Inform, EDM, EMS, etc.
  • Learning to use tool GUIs in order to recover tool issues and extract data/information.
  • Cross-training on ion-implantation Equipment, rapid thermal processing equipment and Implant Department process team.
  • Maintaining world class operations while working in a 24/7 high volume manufacturing environment.
Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • High School diploma is required; Technical degree or military technical experience preferred.
  • 2+ years industrial manufacturing or similar experience required.
  • Prior Semiconductor experience with knowledge of 300mm AMAT VIISta, Axcelis Paradigm, Nissin Exceed, AMAT Centura, AMAT Vantage, Mattson Millios, and Veeco LSA platforms preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong analytical skills to find impactful solutions to complex problems
  • Understanding of Lean Principles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

The current base salary range for this role is between $18.60/hour - $60.40/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Night Shifts Include:

B Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays

D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
