Job summary

The Bloc in Chicago is seeking a Boxing Trainer to lead energetic group classes for West Side youth, focusing on social and emotional development through boxing. You will help structure training plans and guide young athletes toward discipline and teamwork.

The role requires weekday evenings and Saturday sessions, with opportunities to build curricula, recruit and mentor fellow trainers, and partner with families and community programs to sustain impact.

Qualifications

• Experience leading youth boxing programs and boxing training.
• Spanish conversational or fluent preferred.
• Ability to work Monday–Thursday 3:00 PM–7:30 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM–2:00 PM.
• Commitment to serving Chicago’s West Side youth and equity.
• Must have a history of successful boxing training.

Responsibilities

• Youth development through boxing training.
• Develop beginner boxing curriculum with training plans and drills.
• Manage fighter training time, sparring, conditioning, and competition.
• Recruit and train boxing trainers and support their development.
• Communicate progress with parents, guardians, stakeholders, and staff.
• Support recruitment opportunities and program partnerships.
• Complete other tasks to support program health and functioning.
