Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Work Zone Traffic Control Engineer to join our Transportation team in Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on preparing work zone traffic control plans, i.e., transportation management plans, for NCDOT and municipal projects.

Ideal candidate has at least four years of traffic engineering experience, NC PE or eligible, and proficiency with MicroStation and traffic analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required
• NC PE license required or ability to obtain NC licensure based on out-of-state PE
• Minimum 4 years of experience in traffic engineering
• Experience preparing transportation management plans and temporary traffic control plans for NCDOT, VDOT or SCDOT
• Experience with NCDOT Standards, Specifications & Guidelines is preferred
• Design-build experience is a plus
• Experience using MicroStation and traffic analysis software such as Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS and SIDRA is desired
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
• Strong communication and organizational skills; team player; project management experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare work zone traffic control plans (transportation management plans)
• Assist with signing and pavement marking plans
• Assist with traffic signal plans and traffic analyses
• Collaborate with Dewberry's transportation team on NCDOT and municipal projects
• Participate in a growing traffic engineering team across multiple DOT projects
