AH Engineering Consultants seeks a Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join our environmental engineering team. You will work on municipal water and wastewater projects, from planning through design, with opportunities to interface with clients and regulatory agencies.

Ideal candidates have 2–10 years of experience, a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, and strong design and reporting capabilities. This full-time role is based in Virginia Beach/Newport News area with competitive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
2–10 years of experience in water/wastewater design, preferably in consulting.
Strong design, reports, calculations, and regulatory knowledge.
Experience with municipal water and wastewater systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Support planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Prepare or oversee engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and estimates.
Manage projects through design and assist during bidding/construction.
Coordinate with clients, regulators, subconsultants, and teams.
Support permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal projects.
Participate in client meetings, proposals, and business development.
Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
