Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• Solid Waste Equipment Training required.
• 30 days of experience with operation of City of Abilene Solid Waste equipment for Equipment Operator II is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate trash collection or recycling vehicles and related equipment.
• Read street maps and route sheets to locate destinations.
• Perform basic vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Dump collected trash or recyclables at designated sites.
• Report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervisor.
