Job summary

Burnham Wood Charter School District in El Paso, Texas is seeking a Tutor (Contractor) to lead one-on-one or small group lessons and address learning gaps. Starting immediately, compensation ranges from $15 to $30 per hour.

The role reports to the Coordinator of District Tutoring and focuses on student success under HB 4545. The tutor will align tutoring with TEKS, maintain weekly tutor-parent communication, develop instructional materials, and track progress with practice tests to foster

Qualifications

• High School graduate (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze student’s 3-year testing history.
• Implement tutoring model to develop a tutoring plan for each student.
• Work with classroom teacher to align tutoring with curricula topics and assignments.
• Develop parent relationship with tutor-parent communication at least weekly.
• Assist students with homework, projects, test prep, papers, and research.
• Help students understand TEKS concepts in core subjects.
• Teach study strategies, note-taking, and test-taking approaches.
• Develop and distribute teaching materials to supplement lessons.
• Conduct practice tests to track progress and set goals.
