Job summary

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers seek a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete donation pickups and drop-offs, manage routes, and ensure safe vehicle operation. You will report accidents, perform pre-trip checks, keep the vehicle clean, and maintain accurate trip logs and delivery manifests.

You will also assist Thrift Store staff, supervise a Truck Helper, and support the work therapy program by modeling professional conduct and reliable work habits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must lift and handle items up to 100 lbs.
• Valid driver's license with clean DMV record; pass driving test.
• Able to read maps and plan daily routes.
• Professional appearance and customer friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Drive routes for pickup/drop-off of donations to warehouse, boxes, and donor homes.
• Perform daily walk-around inspection of vehicle; report issues.
• Keep truck cab/box clean; remove personal items daily.
• Plan daily routing based on pickups; call boxes as scheduled.
• Develop assigned route; secure loads and use space effectively.
• Maintain delivery manifests, trip logs, and related records.
• Assist Thrift Store staff with item placement and removal of trash.
• Instruct and supervise Truck Helper; model professional conduct.
• Support work therapy program by modeling good habits and supervision.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
