San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) seeks a Transit Planning Manager to lead service planning, evaluate performance, and develop new transit proposals. The role also oversees analytics development, including GIS and passenger-counter initiatives, while coordinating with bus, rail and contract services to implement changes.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in transit planning, strong policy analysis skills, and the ability to engage with public stakeholders to improve service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in transportation planning, engineering, geography, urban studies or related field.
• Five years of full-time professional work experience in transit planning and/or transit operations with increasing responsibilities.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver License or be able to utilize alternative transportation.

Responsabilités

• Oversee service planning tasks and evaluate performance of existing services.
• Develop proposals for new transit service and improvements to quality, productivity and efficiency.
• Lead development of advanced analytical capabilities including GIS and APC initiatives.
• Organize public meetings and outreach activities to obtain meaningful community input.
