Job summary

Lubbock-Cooper ISD is seeking substitutes to provide instruction and supervision in assigned classrooms. You will implement lesson plans, engage students with appropriate activities, and collaborate with campus staff to ensure continuity of learning.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, some college hours, and strong communication and classroom management skills. Short-term and long-term assignments are available with daily pay rates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, some college hours, or associate degree.
• Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum.
• Ability to instruct and manage student behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience managing groups of students or similar instructional work.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and activities provided by the absent teacher.
• Use appropriate strategies and materials reflecting diverse learning styles.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify curriculum as needed.
• Be a positive role model and support campus goals.
• Submit attendance and maintain classroom organization.
• Supervise students at all times and protect materials and facilities.
• Leave notes and complete substitute reports at day’s end.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in substitute training and adhere to policies.
• Plan and assign tasks for long-term assignments as required.
