Distinction LLC in Missouri's St. Louis area is seeking a Substitute Career Technical Training Instructor to support our Job Corps Center, delivering hands-on trades instruction, maintaining safety, and helping students stay engaged.

Step in for regular instructors, reinforce workplace expectations, and strengthen employability skills across a variety of trades, while collaborating with center staff to promote student success. The pay range is 20 - 22.60 USD per hour.

Qualifications

• Substitute Teaching Certification from Missouri DESE.
• OSHA knowledge and/or OSHA certification.
• A passion for helping students discover their potential and prepare for rewarding careers.
• The ability to adapt quickly and confidently in different classroom and shop environments.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience in career technical education, skilled trades, workforce development, or related field is a plus.
• A positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to jump in wherever you're needed.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Step into Career Technical Training classrooms to provide instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular instructor.
• Support hands-on learning activities while maintaining a safe, engaging, and productive classroom environment.
• Reinforce workplace expectations, professionalism, and employability skills that prepare students for success.
• Encourage student participation, confidence, and skill development across a variety of trade and career pathways.
• Follow lesson plans and training objectives to help students stay on track with program competencies.
• Monitor student progress and provide encouragement and constructive feedback.
• Promote safety procedures and ensure students follow equipment and shop protocols.
• Collaborate with instructors and center staff to support student success and positive outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and protect the confidentiality of student information.
