Job summary

Hatch Ltd. is seeking experienced Civil/Structural Field Engineers to support on-site construction management in Gary, IN. You will provide technical engineering support to ensure compliance with designs, codes and standards while collaborating with Hatch field staff and contractors.

The role emphasizes field problem solving, supervision support, and ensuring constructability aligns with the Construction Execution Plan on major EPCM projects in an international setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or similar.
• Field engineering experience in civil/structural projects.
• PE license preferred for responsibilities.
• Experience on large EPCM projects.
• Ability to communicate with contractors and project team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with technical bid analysis and recommendations.
• Verify site data and conditions.
• Coordinate local permitting requirements.
• Assist with the Field Engineering section of the Construction Execution Plan.
• Assist with constructability input and on-site monitoring of design and schedule.
• Review contractor submittals including ITPs and method statements.
• Provide technical assistance to Construction Supervision.
• Review contractor progress reports.
• Manage field information requests and change procedures.
• Develop and distribute onsite specifications and purchases.
• Review contractor pricing and assist with change orders.
• Coordinate third party inspections.
• Generate field sketches and red-line deliverables.
• Review contracts for conflicts and resolution.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
