Job summary

Sarah Bush Lincoln is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to provide individualized treatment for patients with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders across hospital and outreach sites, including long-term care facilities, schools, clinics, and homes. The role requires an MS degree, active SLP license and BLS within 90 days of hire; pay starts at $35.43 per hour and progresses with experience.

Qualifications

• MS Degree required; licensed Speech-Language Pathologist and BLS within 90 days of hire.
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports of diagnostic findings, treatments and progress.
• Carry out treatment as planned utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
• Reassess and modify treatments as appropriate.
• Conduct inservice education programs and participate in community service as requested.
• Assess each patient to determine most appropriate treatment method.
• Develop care plans.
• Document treatment and plans of care to describe client progress and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with health care team to coordinate plans of care and optimize outcomes.
• Coordinate schedule and assignments to maximize productivity and meet deadlines.
• Maintain competency and seek ongoing education to stay current.
• Maintain and correctly utilize equipment (VisiPitch, electrolarynx, AAC devices, dictating units).
• Educate patients and families about disorder, treatment recommendations, and functional effects.
• Provide supervision to graduate students during internships.
• Provide individualized education to clients and caregivers with clear rationale; document accordingly.
• Upon licensure, perform duties independently and supervise staff as needed.
