Qualifications

• NYS Certificate in Special Education or Elementary Education is required.
• Bachelor's degree including all courses needed to meet credential requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and collaborative services in required subjects for the students.
• Evaluate students using formal and informal assessments or observations.
• Develop goals and short-term objectives aligned to class objectives and student needs.
• Identify students and coordinate with staff to modify curriculum and materials.
• Communicate with staff and parents about progress and objectives.
• Provide data to the on-site child study team for IEPs and related needs.
• Use behavioral and motivational techniques to foster an optimal learning environment.
• Maintain records and schedule IEPs timely for ongoing participation.
• Participate in in-service activities and assist staff as needed.
