Job summary

West Seneca Central School District has an immediate vacancy for a long-term substitute in Special Education at the secondary level. This is a full-time, temporary appointment beginning around November 4, 2026, through the end of the first semester of the 2026-2027 school year for an individual certified to teach Special Education at the secondary level.

The assignment is Inclusion/Self-Contained ELA 9/10 and Resource Room.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be certified to teach Special Education at the secondary level.
• Certification(s) include Special Education — All Grades or Students with Disabilities 7-12; ELA is preferred but not required.

The West Seneca Central School Districthas an immediatevacancy fora long-term substitutein the Education of Children with Handicapping Conditions - General Special Educationtenure area. This will be a full-time, temporaryappointment beginning approximately November 4, 2026,through the end of the first semester of the 2026-2027 school yearfor an individual who is certified to teach Special Education at the secondary level.

The selected candidatewill receive salary and benefits prorated to the appointment timeframe. The assignment for the position is Inclusion/Self-ContainedELA 9/10 and Resource Room. The candidate will collaborate with teachers in the ELA and Special Education departments.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate:

• planning and preparation;
• instructional skills;
• effective classroom management; and
• be motivated to engage in continuous professional learning.

Salary and benefits are paid according to the West Seneca Teachers' Association's collective bargaining agreement. The candidate will report to the building Principal and the Director of Special Education.
