Job summary

Powell County Middle School in Stanton, Kentucky is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs under MSD guidelines. The position reports to the Principal and/or Director of Special Education and requires adherence to district, state, and federal requirements.

The teacher will develop IEPs, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate documentation while providing a safe and productive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in field of assignment (minimum requirement).
• Ability to apply instructional techniques and work with a diverse student population.
• Knowledge of special education processes and documentation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district staff.
• Communicates appropriately and effectively with other staff members, parents, students, and with administration.
• Evaluate student progress on a regular basis and maintain required records and IEPs.
• Work with students who have mobility or behavioral challenges and implement safety procedures.
