Job summary

Powell County Middle School in Stanton, Kentucky is seeking a Special Education Teacher to manage individualized education plans and support students with disabilities. This role reports to the Principal and/or Director of Special Education and operates under district, state, and federal regulations.

The position requires delivering instruction, collaborating with staff and parents, and maintaining accurate student records while supporting students’ intellectual, emotional, and physical growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in field of assignment (minimum requirement).
• Ability to determine and implement IEPs for students with disabilities.
• Ability to communicate with staff, parents and administration effectively.
• Knowledge of due process for special education students.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintains proper documentation and due-process records.
