Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is hiring a Special Education Teacher to lead instruction for Grades 6-8 with IEPs. The role emphasizes personalized learning using innovative resources within learning centers or classrooms, aligned to state standards.

The candidate should bring patience, creativity, and a commitment to student growth, with PBIS strategies and co-teaching collaboration. Strong knowledge of IEPs and curriculum development is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
  • Licensed NC state teaching credential in progress or obtained.
  • NC state exceptional children (EC) credential in progress or obtained.
  • Ability to obtain crisis management training certification as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead instructional process for students in Grades 6-8 with IEPs, delivering targeted instruction.
  • Design personalized learning experiences using innovative curriculum resources and software.
  • Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned with standards.
  • Track and document student progress and generate reports on achievements.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in co-teaching settings to meet IEP goals.
  • Adapt curricular content to diverse learning styles and guide staff on differentiation methods.
  • Utilize varied instructional methods and educational software to address diverse needs.
  • Manage student caseloads, update IEPs, goals and interventions.
  • Maintain organized, safe, welcoming classrooms and organize materials.
  • Stay informed on current research-based practices and participate in professional growth.
  • Respond to feedback from evaluations and observations to improve effectiveness.
  • Support school community with additional duties as assigned.
