Job summary

Qualifications

• Portfolio assessment meeting MDE guidelines for paraprofessionals under NCLB.
• Maintain required trainings/certificates and provide documentation before expiration.
• Regular and reliable attendance and physical ability to perform the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with implementing individual instructional/behavior plans.
• Support instruction in cognitive/functional skills and self-help development.
• Support community-based instruction and group activities with students.
• Assist ancillary staff with gross/fine motor tasks and equipment handling.
• Assist PE with gym/swim programs and follow lesson plans and records.
• Collaborate with staff to meet student performance objectives and maintain a safe classroom.
