Job summary

Norwalk Public Schools seeks a paraeducator for Special Education (Group 1) at Concord Magnet K-8 School for the 2026-27 school year. You will support a special education teacher, implement IEP goals, and assist students in class, on buses, and during field trips.

The role requires strong communication, data recording, and ability to work with diverse learners. Days are Monday–Friday, 27.5 hours weekly, with limited benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency and ParaPro Certificate.
• Two years of experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
• Spanish fluency may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing special education programs and IEP goals.
• Support students individually or in small groups during class activities.
• Maintain attendance records and document student progress.
• Prepare and distribute lesson plan materials and assist with behavior programs.
• Escort and mobility support for students; supervise during recess and field trips.
