Job summary

Anoka-Hennepin School District in Minnesota is hiring a Paraeducator / Teacher Assistant for Special Education. The full-time position is 184 days per year, 6.5 hours per day, with duties supporting student learning and behavior management.

Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, assisting with daily living skills, and helping with instruction under supervision. Qualifications require a High School Diploma or equivalent, and completion of a ParaEducator or ParaPro exam within 30

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with ParaEducator/ParaPro exam completion within 30 days.
Strong communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
Ability to supervise students and use technology in instruction.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in the school building.

Responsibilities

Managing behavior by redirecting, calming or removing disruptive students.
Monitoring and recording student progress in academics, daily living skills, and social tasks.
Assisting with toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting and transporting students as needed.
Providing support under supervision to ensure a safe and productive classroom.
