Qualifications

• To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Praxis Parapro exam may be substituted for college hours but must have a high school diploma.
• Able to assist with personal hygiene including feeding and personal care (toileting). Must be able to lift approximately 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in routine classroom operations.
• Implements/follow teacher’s instructions for classroom procedures.
• Prepares planned instructional materials, attendance reports, and class reports as assigned.
• Assists with the development and maintenance of class and student records.
• Supervises students during loading/unloading buses, in cafeteria, playground, and in classroom when the teacher is absent.
• Assists with behavior management programs and techniques.
• Understands and assists in meeting the special needs of students.
• Maintains confidentiality and observes professional ethics.
