Job summary

City and County of Denver's Denver Human Services is seeking Social Case Workers to support Child Welfare Services, including intake and permanency, with potential hybrid work arrangements across home, field, and office settings.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree, has human services experience, and demonstrates strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills to help families access services and achieve permanency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field as required by CDHS Volume 7/30 regulations.
• Professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services related agency.
• No substitution of experience for education; additional education may substitute for experience.
• Licensure: valid Driver’s License and post-hire certification to be a social case worker in CDHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate new allegations of abuse/neglect of children ages 0-18 in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Contact families and conduct interviews on behalf of the child and maintain professional contacts with community leaders and law enforcement.
• Develop and implement treatment plans, provide counseling, referrals, and placement services.
• Prepare case records, reports, and documents meeting state and federal standards; provide case notes and evaluations.
• Testify in court as needed with expert testimony and comprehensive reports for court recommendations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
