Job summary

The Learning Lamp is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to provide essential health services within multiple school districts around Nanty-Glo, PA. Hours follow district calendars, with pay ranging from $150 to $200 per day.

This role involves health assessments, first aid, medication administration, health education, and collaboration with families and school staff to support student well-being. Part-time benefits include PTO, longevity bonuses, 403(b) option, discounts, and more.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Pennsylvania.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training (including: mandated reporter training, physical, TB test).
• CPR and First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments and screenings as required in schools.
• Administer first aid and emergency care per established protocols.
• Administer prescribed medications with proper documentation.
• Provide health education and promote wellness within the school.
• Communicate with parents, teachers and staff about health concerns.
• Maintain confidential health records for students and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and participate in IEP/504 meetings.
• Implement infection control measures to maintain a healthy school environment.
